As the Manager, Warehouse & Inventory, you are responsible for senior leadership of the corporate Warehouse & Inventory Management (W&IM) division. This position will:
  • Create transformational vision; align processes, capabilities and service offering with customer strategies through leadership, direction and governance; manage resources efficiently and effectively to achieve best value for tax payers dollars.
  • Provide strategic insight for short and long term citywide needs in relation to the lifecycle of inventory, including: planning, forecasting, inventory procurement, replenishment, and disposition at end of life.
  • Pursue opportunities to improve performance, leverage technology, and unlock the power of data.
  • Manage environment, health, safety and wellness; ensure policies and procedures are followed and consistently applied. Monitor progress across the division and take action to improve performance.
  • Lead W&IM multi-year business planning and budget development (capital and operating) within the division in conjunction with other divisional managers of Supply Management; intentionally manage annual budgets.
  • Oversee and manage W&IM projects and related major initiatives for Supply Management.
Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline; OR
  • A valid Journeyman Parts Technician or a Journeyman Materials Technician certificate, plus Blue Seal Certification (or equivalent) as recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board.
  • A degree will be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive supply chain experience within a large, diverse, and complex warehousing and supply chain management organization, with 2 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Extensive experience and understanding in warehouse and inventory management systems, policies, processes and procedures, as well as the development of Requests for Proposal for inventory items.
  • Experience managing, planning and implementing projects with strategic change initiatives in a unionized environment.
  • Training and/or experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or project management are considered strong assets.
  • Core competencies include: strong leadership skills, integrity, management-level communication and organizational skills, strong influencing, dispute resolution and consultative skills.

Compensation: Level G $98,270 – 154,609 per annum
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, earning 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
